Allison To, Pianist

Twelve-year-old
Allison To
is taking
Piano Competitions by storm! At the
age of ten, she won second place
in the Junior Solo Division of the
2011 Virginia Waring International
Piano Competition, and at eleven,
she was the youngest prize winner
at the Gina Bachauer International
Junior Piano Competition. In the
summer of 2013, Ms.To received
the Evgeny-Kissin Grand Prize and
the Rosalyn Tureck Prize at the
Rosalyn Tureck International Bach
Competition.
Ms. To made her concerto debut in 2012
with the Seraphim Symphony under
the baton of Maxim Eskenazy, and
performed at Weill Hall and Yamaha
Salon in New York. She studies at
Opus 119 Conservatory in Irvine, and
has participated in master classes
with Menahem Pressler of Indiana
University, Wha Kyung Byun of the
New England Conservatory of Music,
and William Grant Nabore of the Lake
Como International Piano Academy.
Sung Ho Yang, Pianist
Tuesday, November 12, 7 – 8 p.m.
Born in South Korea, pianist
Sung Ho
Yang
graduated from Sun-Hwa Arts
School and attended Seoul National
University before transferring to the
New England Conservatory of Music in
Boston. There he earned his bachelors
and masters degrees in music, as well
as the graduate diploma, before going
on to the University of Wisconsin-
Madison, where he is attending the
Doctoral of Musical Arts Program.
As a concerto soloist, Mr. Yang
debuted with the St. Petersburg Radio
Symphony Orchestra in St. Petersburg,
Russia. He has won top prize at the
Florestano Rossomandi International
Competition in Italy and at the Johann
Nepomuk Hummel International Piano
Competition in Slovakia.
