The
Palm Springs Opera Guild
is
dedicated to providing education,
support, and promotion of all aspects
of opera. The Guild’s tradition of
honoring and encouraging young
opera singers will continue when the
Guild presents the 30
th
Annual Vocal
Competition at the Library.
Promising young opera singers will
compete for scholarships and a
distinguished panel of professionals
will judge their performance skills and
award significant cash prizes. Many
previous winners have launched
impressive careers and perform
regularly with major opera companies
around the world.
Ken Dahleen and His Big
Band Staff
Wednesday, December 11, 7 – 8 p.m.
Whenever
Ken Dahleen and His Big
Band Staff
take the stage, you can bet
you’ll enjoy Big Band music the way
it was meant to be performed. In this
concert, Ken and company will offer
up the best of the Big Bands, from
Benny Goodman to Stan Kenton, with
numerous eight bar solos in between!
Delving into an extensive music library,
they will chronicle the distinctive
sounds of the greatest bands.
The Joslyn Singers Celebrate
the Season
Tuesday, December 17, 3 – 4 p.m.
The Joslyn Singers
invite you to
light the menorah, trim the tree,
and celebrate the season with this
afternoon’s program of music. The
Joslyn Singers are a lively group of
seniors who enjoy sharing their love
of singing by performing for clubs and
assisted living facilities throughout the
Coachella Valley. The Joslyn Singers
have been performing for nineteen
years and are currently directed by
Eva Myers.
